Bird, bird, bird

One of my favorite Disney movies is Bambi. And probably my favorite part of that movie is when Bambi learns his first word, "bird, bird, bird".

If you haven't figured it out by now, I love taking pictures. So here are some of my bird favorites.

Hawks circling:

Great Blue Heron being extremely patient with the lady taking 785 pictures of him:

Extremely friendly bird who was looking for a hand-out at a rest area along Alligator Alley:

Not your average sea bird, Manasota Key, very early in the morning:

Another sea bird, Venice Fishing Pier:

Brown Pelican, coming in for a landing and looking like a Pterodactyl, Venice Fishing Pier:

Brown Pelicans, fighting over a fish, Venice Fishing Pier:

And it's a little known fact that the heron has been featured on hte postage stamp more than any other bird.

(Get it? See my clever reference?)

I actually blame Bambi for making me the animal lover I am today. My mom took me to see it as a tiny child one Saturday morning and I created a giant scene when Bambi's mom got shot she had to leave. :)

Nice photos! Where birds are concerned I am fascinated by flamingos. I might even paint one soon!

Here's hoping you took those shots with extreme zoom. Because me and birds?? we don't get along.

I am freaked out by birds in person. Ewww!! But your photos are gorgeous and really peaceful.
